Questions? Answers.
If a flood hits your home and ruins your floors and furniture, it’s critical to react fast and handle the situation with professional help.
Â
Leaking water may damage your property and belongings. Your furniture, appliances, and carpets can be ruined in a broken pipe accident. If this is the case, try to stop the water source and call us ASAP. If you are experiencing a sewage leak in your home, there can be a serious hygiene risk, which makes swift, remedial action a priority.
Immediately call for professional help. Water damage from bacterial growth can begin within hours.
Â
Sometimes, we work with insurance companies directly if you have a claim number; we work with adjusters, take pictures, send reports, and estimate how much things are going to cost. Alternatively, you can work with us directly and pay privately.
When the customer calls us, sometimes they just want an assessment for a job, and sometimes it’s an emergency call. In these cases, we go right away, arrive at the site ASAP, and extract the water.
Â
We explain the process and let the customer know if the job needs to be done right away to prevent further damage. If it’s done through the insurance company, we need to have the claim number or customer information to start the job.
Â
Our mission is to dry the area and to take out all the water to prevent mildew and mold growth in the future.
Â
Steps to take before we arrive at your property:
Â
- Remove as much water as possible by mopping and blotting.
- Remove wet rugs or other floor coverings not permanently attached.
- Move photos, small furniture, and other objects to a safe, dry location.
- Do not attempt to start removing wall-to-wall carpet without a professional.
- Do not touch or get close to any visible mold.
When we arrive:
Â
Water damage restoration is performed after the damage has already occurred and is usually an emergency service.
Â
This service starts by first inspecting and assessing the job by determining the level and severity of the damage. The process itself usually takes one day to complete, but sometimes it can take longer than that. After an assessment has been completed, we can give approximate costs and an estimated time to complete the job.
Â
To start the job, we apply a containment barrier to protect your belongings. We start the water extraction with vacuums and pumps, and do all the demolition necessary; remove the carpets or hardwood floors and other damaged furniture.
Â
After the majority of the water has been removed, we set up all of the drying equipment – fans, air movers, and humidifier. Finally, we clean and disinfect the area with air scrubbers to clear the air, disinfect everything with sanitation products, and any other necessary services. This stage is critical and may involve mold remediation services.
Â
Water mitigation service is the process of reducing or preventing further damage to your property and belongings. By treating it, we can prevent mold growth. Our process includes a thorough inspection, cutting drywall or flooring, and drying the area so that you can eventually go back to your normal life. It’s important that this is done by trained professionals who are experienced with protective gear, such as respirators and waterproof clothing.
Â
Finally, we help you recover from the water damage, with a focus on returning your property to its original state as best we can. Depending on the amount of permanent damage that occurred, restoration projects may be simple like minor repairs to the walls, floors, and furniture. Other times, they may require more construction work and even complete replacement.
Smoke & Fire Damage
Questions? Answers.
It’s important to note that the job will be considered as water damage if the fire department had come and sprayed. If there was no water involvement – then this will be treated as smoke damage.
Â
In some cases, we involve the insurance companies, and if there is a claim number, we work directly with them. We take notes of the property and belongings that have been damaged and destroyed and provide documentation like photos and videos, if possible. If your insurance doesn’t cover it or you want to do it privately, personal claims are billed directly to you.
The goal is to help you keep as many of your belongings and restore your home as much as possible. We inspect the space to get a better picture of the damage done, as well as to check for any hazards before we start the job.
Â
First, we start by cleaning and sanitizing the air as much as possible, getting rid of the smell, and using air scrubbers and movers. We have special equipment to minimize smoke damage and remove soot stains and other debris from the walls, furniture, and appliances. We may need to patch, paint, or replace drywall if the damage is severe enough.
Â
We simplify your fire damage recovery experience by looking for any belongings that are salvageable, safely removing them from the damaged area, and restoring them if necessary and possible.
Â
A fire in your home can take a serious toll on your well-being, and it can take some time to process and heal. You don’t have to deal with it on your own. Our licensed and experienced professionals will do their best to help to make the space feel like home again, and they will accompany you through the process. We will also help you complete your insurance paperwork.
Mold
Remediation & Mitigation
Questions? Answers.
If you suspect an area in your house has been contaminated, see or smell visible mold, or if water damage has occurred, please call us for a consultation and assessment. Even if it’s not visible, it’s important to address water damage and prevent further damage and complications.
Â
The purpose is to remove all of the molds from the house. Simply removing the visible parts does not mean it has been eliminated, and messing with mold that has not been identified can cause serious health issues.
Â
Being exposed to unidentified mold or handling it improperly can lead to health problems and complications, especially for sensitive people like elders, children, and people with allergies.
Â
Most of the time insurance doesn’t include mold mitigation. When they do, it’s usually only when the mold infestation is caused by an emergency already covered on your policy, like flood damage or a pipe burst.
Â
Mold remediation services will most likely not be covered if linked to consistent moisture problems or delayed maintenance. This is why it’s important to act fast after water damage occurs or address plumbing and leaking issues as soon as they show up.
Â
It’s important to consider that the growth may have spread around and require the removal of more parts of the room, such as walls and floors.
First, we inspect the property and identify the infestation’s source and cause. Some mold infestation is visible right away and may even smell, but we don’t know the full extent of the growth until all of the inspection and demolition has been completed.
Â
In certain cases, we may use a testing kit to identify the mold type and severity. This part may include the use of sampling tools and air quality monitors. Sometimes finding the source of the water leak can be quite challenging as it may be hidden from view.
Â
We inspect all high-risk areas; such as basements, attics, and other humid areas like windows, bathrooms, and kitchens.
Â
When it comes to mold damage, our professional team has got you covered throughout the entire process. After the testing is done and we have all the information we need, our experts make a plan to dry the moisture, start the mold remediation process, and complete a full water damage restoration service.
Â
The mold cleanup step depends on the area and the extent of the damage. If not done before, water damage removal and services may be necessary prior to the mold remediation service. Of course, you can rest assured that our expert team can help with that, as well with our water damage services.
Â
We will start by ripping and disposing of any material that cannot be repaired or cleaned, like wood, carpets, and ceramics, which are prone to water absorption. In severe cases, we may need to remove parts of the walls, ceiling panels, baseboards, cabinets, and floors.
Â
We will help determine what can be restored and cleaned and what is beyond repair and support you through the whole process. If certain parts have been damaged by mold and cannot be restored, we will make sure you’re aware, and we will be fully transparent with you. We know it may be hard to let go of certain pieces, and we will do our best to save what we can.
Â
After all is removed, we clean and disinfect. This step is crucial to contain and prevent the regrowth of mold. To ensure that the entire space is properly sanitized, we may use different equipment and solutions, such as humidifiers, air scrubbers, and vacuums. We may also use air ventilators to replenish the air.
Â
We then spray the entire room with special disinfectant agents that will eradicate any remaining spores and help prevent mold regrowth. We will do some final testing to make sure we got rid of it all.
Â
Once the mold has been safely removed and your home has been disinfected, we may begin the restoration process of installing new drywall and floors and revitalizing any parts of the property that were destroyed by mold.
Plumbing & Electrical
Questions? Answers.
Some older houses are not able to handle the electrical needs of modern life that rely on multiple uses of electrical appliances and may need an upgrade for better protection and reliability. Or sometimes the existing wiring does not meet the current code requirements.
Â
Ensuring reliable plumbing and electrical connection is a crucial part of turning your home into your dream space. Plumbing and electrical aren’t just for new homes: every house needs to be updated every once in a while.
Â
When it comes to plumbing and electrical services, we do everything that you could possibly need. We can do a new sink or new drain installation, reroute plumbing, as well as set up any lighting or electrical outlets you may need. We can also do electrical panel repairs and replacements, or even work up an entirely new electrical or plumbing plan for your property.
When it comes to our plumbing and electrical services, everything is up to you. Just know that we can only do what the building permits allow us to do, and sometimes a job can’t be done how we initially expected because of permits or other building issues.
Â
Finally, since we may encounter surprises and complications along the way, our timelines and completion dates are subject to change. We never really know what to expect going into a job, but we will always keep you updated on our progress.
First, you reach out to us for our services, and we discuss what the problem is in detail. If it’s a small job, we can sometimes estimate over the phone what is going to be the cost. However, if it’s a more complex job, we send our certified electrician or plumber to your home to perform an inspection, diagnose issues, and discuss what needs to be replaced or repaired.
Â
Throughout the job, we make sure that everything is up to your standards. After the job is completed, we make sure that everything is working correctly and that our work has made your vision come to life.
Handyman Services
Questions? Answers.
When it comes to handyman services, we do it all. We take care of just about everything, including replacing electrical outlets, adjusting light fixtures, repairing toilets, replacing switches, and repairing or adjusting doors. We can also do small plumbing jobs, such as fixing the water pressure, repairing faucets, fixing leaky pipes, replacing shower valves, troubleshooting, and more.
Â
These small services can be a huge benefit and save costs of having a plumber or technician do a full inspection and repair. Sometimes, all it needs is just a little bit of attention, and then it will work like new.
If the handyman runs into a larger issue or something major, we will need to send our electrician or plumber out there so that they can address the issue or problem.
Â
If the issue is small, sometimes simply calling us and telling us about the problem can help us resolve it without having us come to your home. We may instruct you over the phone if certain steps need to be taken before we arrive.
After we receive your call and discuss details, we send our handyman over to your home to fix the issue – simple as that. Unless the job requires more work or turns out to be complex, most things can be fixed on the spot and on the same day.
Â
We will of course provide all the details we have and provide approximate prices before our handyman starts the job.
